The defining step in the Christian journey is committing to Jesus and his church. God calls every individual not simply to observe Christianity or play with it as an intellectual idea but to commit your life to Jesus. If you haven't done that, it's simple. The Bible tells you to turn away from your sin and put your faith and your hope in Jesus. It involves understanding "the gospel" and embracing it for yourself.
Embracing Jesus and the gospel also involves publicly committing to him through baptism. We usually run at least two "baptism and membership" classes each year. If you are interested in attending this class, please let us know.
If you have committed your life to Jesus and you have been baptised, we would also encourage you to formally commit to the church (i.e. "the body and bride of Christ"). We call this step "church membership". It's not something we've just made up. In the New Testament, you'll find that Christians were committed and even numbered within local churches and this commitment is designed to help Christians grow together and be accountable to one another. If you are interested in learning more about "church membership", please contact us and we'll set up a meeting with you and one of our pastors.
